
The HBV International Meeting 2024 was held from September 11 to September 14, 2024 in Chicago, USA. At the opening ceremony of the meeting, Prof. Wenhui Li of Institute for Biomedical Interdisciplinary Research, Tsinghua University was awarded the Distinguished Award in Hepatitis B Research.

The committee felt that Dr. Li's discovery of the HBV receptor NTCP was a truly transformative breakthrough in HBV research, and that the creative follow-up work that followed this discovery was of the highest quality.

In his acceptance speech, Wenhui Li reviewed the discovery and reported sharing recent research progress and outlook.
The International Hepatitis B Virus Meeting (International HBV Meeting) brings together hundreds of experts from around the globe each year to discuss topics such as the latest cutting-edge research, drug discovery and treatment advances. Since 1985, it has been the top international professional meeting in the field of hepatitis B virus.
